How to Remove Text from an Image (Dates, Captions, Objects)
Erase date stamps, captions, stickers and stray objects from photos with an AI brush, plus tips for clean, natural fills.
Orange date stamps on old prints, captions burned into screenshots, a sticker over a face, a stranger in the background: they all draw the eye away from the photo. An AI eraser removes them and fills the gap so it looks like it was never there.
How it works
On Remove text you paint over what should go. The AI looks at everything around the painted area, then rebuilds the background: the wall pattern, the sky, the grain of a table or the texture of fabric. Unlike a clone stamp, you don't pick a source; the fill is generated to match the scene.
Step by step
- Upload the photo. JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC up to 15 MB. Paste a screenshot with Ctrl/Cmd+V.
- Paint the area. Cover the text or object completely, plus a small margin. Use a bigger brush for large objects and a smaller one near faces or edges you want to keep. Undo any stroke.
- Run it. Each erase costs 6 credits and keeps the full resolution.
- Compare and download. Drag the slider to check the fill, then download.
Tips for a natural result
- Cover shadows and reflections too. A removed object that leaves its shadow behind looks odd.
- Work in passes for big areas. Remove a few things, download, upload again and continue. Smaller areas give cleaner fills.
- Leave a little context. Don't paint over the whole background; the AI needs the surroundings to know what to draw.
- Straight lines and patterns such as tiles or window frames continue well when the painted area is narrow.
